Session Overview

The party completed the ritual to break Castle Amber’s curse by using all four required artifacts, which transported them to Prince Stephen’s tomb in an interdimensional space. After donating their horse to a local orphanage and officially adopting the name “The Court of Lady Grok” (or simply “The Court”), they encountered and defeated a massive blue metallic dragon guarding an enormous treasure hoard. The session concluded with their victory and the discovery of wealth beyond their wildest dreams.

Thal’s Journal Entry

Written during their rest after the dragon battle, with margin doodles showing the ritual sequence - artifacts dissolving into amber mist, the massive tomb appearing from nowhere, and a detailed sketch of the blue dragon’s final moments with Selnove delivering the killing blow while Cabbage looks on approvingly

Well now, we’ve done it then — the whole impossible ritual, complete with our collection of magical trinkets, sure enough. Watching that mirror, ring, and sword dissolve into amber mist was both satisfying and terrifying, I’d say. ‘Twas like watching months of ertffo literally vanish before materializing this massive tomb from thin air.

The horse donation went as expected — orphans celebrating while we debated practicalities, so there is. At least we’re officially “The Court of Lady Grok” now, though most just call us “The Court.” Has a proper ring to it, entirely.

Found ourselves facing down a blue dragon that clearly hadn’t expected visitors, to be sure. Massive thing, covered in metallic scales and sleeping atop enough treasure to buy a small kingdom. Between Grok’s blessings, Hawthorne’s thunder magic, and coordinated attacks, the beast never stood a proper chance. Will miss the Sword of Sylaire — served me well during our adventure, aye — but good thing I can always rely on my fists when magic fails.

The real surprise was Cabbage nearly getting roasted by lightning breath. Watching Grok frantically pour healing potion down the dog’s throat while threatening the dragon was… enlightening. That cleric’s got more heart than she lets on, aye.

Now we’re sitting on more wealth than most see in a lifetime — eighty-six thousand silver pieces and enough gems to make merchants weep. Started this adventure looking for a missing caravan, and we’re ending it richer than any caravan master could dream, so we are.

Crew Assessment:

  • Combat Capability: Excellent coordination under pressure — we’ve become a proper fighting unit
  • Reliability Factor: Strong when it matters most, though still prone to generous spending
  • Spiritual State: Grok’s divine powers proving invaluable, rest adapting well to impossible circumstances
  • Sea-Worthiness: Would make excellent crew with this level of tactical thinking
  • Notable Moments: The ritual sequence, Cabbage’s near-death experience, Selnove’s dragon-slaying finale
