Session Overview

The party departed Ximes with their newly acquired potion of time travel, beginning their journey to Perigon to seek the Ring of Eibon. Their 18-hex journey was marked by repeated encounters with the same travelers - Melchior the hunter and Giles Grenier the potion seller - leading to increasing paranoia and eventual acceptance of their fellow travelers. The session ended as phantoms emerged from the evening shadows to attack the party’s cart.

Thal’s Journal Entry

Written in precise handwriting, with margin doodles showing the same two figures (Melchior and Giles) appearing repeatedly along a winding road like a children’s flip book, growing progressively more exaggerated with each appearance. Another sketch shows sheep with wolf heads poorly hidden under wooly wigs, and a final drawing depicts Grok hitting Selnove with a staff while golden light heals the wound instantly

Another delightful stretch of road where apparently only three people exist - us, that Melchior fellow, and the potion peddler who can’t remember his own name. Met them so many times I started wondering if we were walking in circles. First time, fine. Second time, suspicious. Third time, I had my crossbow out. By the fourth, we just invited them to ride with us because clearly the universe wanted us together.

The real entertainment came when Grok demonstrated the healing staff on Selnove’s face. One solid whack followed by instant magical healing - efficient way to prove a point, I suppose. Watching the blood appear and disappear before it could even drip was almost worth losing that staff to the Bishop. Almost.

Then there was my moment of brilliance with the sheep. Convinced myself they were wolves in disguise - because after all the werewolves we’ve encountered, why wouldn’t livestock be suspect? The shepherd practically ran away from us. Can’t say I blame him. We’ve become the sort of people that make others cross the street.

Crew Assessment:

  • Combat Capability: Untested today, though Grok’s staff demonstration was impressive
  • Reliability Factor: Deteriorating - we’re seeing conspiracies in sheep now
  • Spiritual State: Grok having existential crises about magic laws, rest holding steady
  • Sea-Worthiness: Would definitely scare away the other sailors
  • Notable Moments: The great sheep paranoia incident, Grok’s healing demonstration
