Session Overview
The party left Château Amber through a mysterious gate and found themselves at an inn called “Bonne Joussaince” along a north-south road. After resting and gathering information from the innkeeper Charles Fournier, they encountered a purple-robed sorceress named Moriani who claims to have stolen a potion formula from Azedarac. The party also obtained a crucial scroll detailing the requirements to break Castle Amber’s curse, including collecting four magical artifacts and the specific ritual needed to summon Prince Stephen’s tomb.
Thal’s Journal Entry
Written in precise handwriting, with margin doodles showing a tavern scene with Charles Fournier’s exaggerated hooked nose and Selnove tossing amber chunks around like confetti, alongside a small sketch of four artifacts arranged in a ritual pattern
Finally, out of that cursed mansion. Made it to some backwoods inn run by a fellow with a nose like a ship’s prow - practically needed its own harbor. Selnove’s been throwing around our amber like it’s worthless, nearly gave the innkeeper a heart attack with his “tips.” At this rate, we’ll be broke before we find what we need.
Found out what we actually need to break this curse - four magical items and some precise instructions that read like a recipe for disaster. Touch rings to snake tails, anoint swords with time potions… at least it’s more direction than we had in that mansion. Met a sorceress who claims she’s stolen some formula from this Azedarac fellow - convenient timing, though in my experience, anyone bragging about stolen magic usually has more stories than substance.
Spent half the night trying to wrangle a drunk Grok from the outhouse - found her passed out with snacks in her lap, feet sticking out the door. Tried to carry her back inside but my strength failed me spectacularly. Ended up sprawled on my back with her on top of me while I muttered about clerics and their “minimum effort.” Between that and dodging Hawthorne’s drunken attempts at bonding, it was quite a night. At least the innkeeper eventually helped get Grok to bed - though I’m still nursing bruised pride over failing to lift her despite these supposedly mighty gauntlets.
